Do insurances in Manitoba cover windshield replacement costs?
This depends on the type of insurance you have. Some insurances do cover windshield replacement, but you might have to pay a fixed deductible. Contact your insurer for more information.
Can a stone chip damage on the windshield be repaired?
This depends on the intensity of the damage. In case it is smaller than the size of a loonie, it can be repaired.
Can I get an estimate on the windshield or window repair costs for my car?
Of course! Our team of experts will happily investigate the damage and provide you with an accurate estimate free of cost.
What happens if a glass claim for the vehicle has already been opened?
In this case, you will have to get in touch with the MPI at (204) 985-7000. Your insurer can also get in touch with them. After they have been advised, our team will look into completing the claim.
Do I still have to pay if I am insured?
This depends on your insurance plan. In most cases, you are responsible to pay a deductible amount. For repairs, this amount is usually less than $300. In case of a vandalism claim, the deductible is less than $200. However, this amount can be waived off if a police report is provided.
What is the process of making a claim with MPI?
To open a claim with MPI, follow these steps:
- Open our website exactautoglass.ca.
- You will see an “Open Glass Claim” button, click on it.
- Fill out the online form. However, if you cannot access the website or the form, call us at (204) 930-6644, we will open the claim for you.
- Get in touch with MPI, You can reach them at (204) 985-7000, and let them know you will take your vehicle to Exact Auto Glass. We will do the rest for you once you arrive with your vehicle.
Can a glass claim affect my driver’s rating?
No, glass claims do not go against your rating or affect your premiums.
How long will it take to get the replacement after I have filed my claim?
Although we try our best to get a replacement as soon as possible, it depends on the type of windshield that is required. Generally, we receive a replacement for windshields within two to three working days. However, replacement glass for less common or brand new models typically takes more than three business days.
Once the replacement is received, how long does it take to replace the windshield on the vehicle?
Replacement can take anywhere from 3 hours to 12 hours. In some cases, we may need to keep your vehicle for a whole day, such as if your windshield requires recalibration.
Can I get a courtesy car as a temporary replacement?
We do offer courtesy cars, but they are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, if courtesy cars are unavailable, we can also provide you with a rental car.
Do you provide Original Equipment Manufactured (OEM) glass?
Since OEM glass is not required for replacement or recalibration on most vehicles, we do not work with them. However, the glass we use is guaranteed to meet the same standards as OEM and the requirements of Department of Transportation (D.O.T) certification.
Does the glass break while it is being removed for resealing or repair?
Although our team of experts is proficient in removing glass without breaking it, there is always a chance that glass could break. However, this depends on factors such as age, scratches, chips, and more. Nevertheless, we try to minimize any types of damage by carefully utilizing different methods.
Will the windshield be recalibrated along with replacement?
Yes! The windshield is recalibrated as well. At Exact Auto, we provide recalibrations for ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
If I cannot bring my car to the workshop, can the team come to inspect my vehicle?
Yes. We offer mobile services within 25 km of Winnipeg for free. We can also pick up and drop off from the customers’ location.
Is the windshield replacement backed by a warranty?
Yes, We provide a lifetime warranty on the windshield. Along with this, we also provide a life-long guarantee for installation.
